OUR TRIP TO SAN ANTONIO

Our first stop was the capitol in Austin, TX. It's a very beautiful building - a lot of the original architecture has been preserved including the desks the senators and state representatives use. Take a close look at the electric chandeliers, which are original (over 100 years old) - the light bulbs spell TEXAS. I just love the beautiful floor to ceiling shutters and the antique desks. When you stand right in the middle of the star under the dome, the acoustics are really strange to only the person standing on the star - pretty cool! Also, the beautiful brass hinges weigh 8 lbs each. We all really enjoyed the free tour, it's well worth taking the time to go.

After visiting the capitol in Austin, TX we visited the Alamo in San Antonio, TX. It was a lot smaller than I imagined it would be. But it's very pretty with the beautiful gardens. It definitely does possess a sacred and hallow spirit b/c of the tragic event which took place there about 170 years ago or so.

Friday evening we went to the Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX. It's within walking distance to the Alamo. Along this riverwalk there are a ton of restaurants with outside dining areas. The waterfalls and gardens were really cool.

On Saturday morning, we went to the Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg, TX where they had a butterfly farm. The butterflies really liked Katrina and Jayson. Daniel enjoyed the butterflies, too. Can you see the butterflies in the pics?

After the butterfly house we went to the Enchanted Rock State Park near Fredericksburg, TX. We waited in line outside the park for 40 minutes before getting in, but the climb and view were very much worth the wait. I forgot my camera, so I have to get some pictures from Katrina.

Looks like you had a great trip. Too bad I am a Suns fan because I will never step foot in San Antonio thanks to the Spurs :)

I love the butterflies! And you got some cute pics od Daniel. Nathaniel and Bradley look so peaceful standing/sitting by the waterfall.

What beautiful pics of your trip to San Antonio, etc. How did you get the mama duck and chicks to pose like that - alll lined up? Great picture(s)! The butterflies are so beautiful, reminds us of the Butterfly Garden we visted, Feb. in Key West, which we felt was one of the best we ever visited. Will try to send videos to you. The butterfly on Daniel's toes/sock competes with the butterfly that landed on GD's hat and GM's back for pictues. Sounds like you had a great time and good weather. Also, love the pic of the cactus outside the Alamo. Love to all, GM & GD

Actually, Nathaniel & Bradley were saying they were bored. We just ignored them. Are we just wonderful parents - we just love to torture our kids! hehehe!
